Technical & Visual Assessment

• Technical Grade: Very Fine (VF 20 – VF 25)

• Preservation Highlights:

  • Paper Integrity: Strong, fibrous original paper body with good firmness and crispness.

  • Margins & Edges: Complete, untrimmed borders on all four sides with intact corners and no margin tears, edge notches, or pinholes.

  • Folds & Handling: A distinct vertical center fold is present alongside mild handling waviness across the field, typical of honest military circulation.

  • Surface Condition: Light, natural age toning across the white margins. A minor vertical handling smudge/toning mark is visible in the upper center margin on the obverse face.

  • Stamping Clarity: Outstanding verification strikes. Like your 4-1-15 note, this specimen preserves the full triad of official red re-validation markings: the Treasury cachet, the G-KNE control block, and the crisp 5-10-15 wartime date.
